The Evidence of Unity

Life and existence have diverse forms. They can be dichotomous and asymmetric - there are no two water drops, two finger prints or two people that are exact copies of each other.  However, there are also many features of communal harmony all around us - both the flora and the fauna exhibit amazing patterns of unity where gregarious, symbiotic and other populations coexist and support one another.

Civilisation has seen periods of peace and periods of deep divisions and conflict between opposing camps and warring parties. The 20th century stands out as a century of two world wars, a period of cold war, numerous revolutions, civil wars and regional conflicts. Today in the 21st century the divisions continue – strife, arguments and controversies among neighbours, townships, nations and continents are present as ever. The lack of compassion, empathy and understanding leads to angry disagreements and hatred that divide the society. This goes far beyond different religious beliefs, social status, educational background and income brackets, but instead stems from a general lack of compassion and a sense of unity.

A society that lives by the principles of unity has no room for hatred and strife because mutual understanding and compassion go hand in hand with unity.

The Wall of the World project embraces the idea of unity. The Wall of the World is being created by bringing together millions of people – 65 million people will unite around a common objective – to create the evidence of unity of this century and thus help bring down the barriers among races, religions and beliefs. The creation of the Wall of the World is guided by unity and equality. Following these principles the people’s registered details will be inscribed on the Wall in a chronological order, and thus how the names of people from different continents, religions, languages and economic circumstances will be placed is left to chance. All will be equal - be it a worker of Brazilian coffee plantations, a Japanese scientist, an Australian pop star, an inhabitant of Iraq, a stock exchange broker from New York, an accountant of tinned fish plant in Kamchatka or an Moroccan orange seller.

Everybody who registers his or her data for engraving on the Wall of the Wall is making an invaluable contribution to the creation of the evidence of unity of the 21st century.

Our dream is a peaceful and united world. Together we can make this dream true.
