Sustainability of the Wall of the World

The Wall of the World is created for today’s generations and those of the future. For today’s generations it will be the testimony that humanity can unite around an idea and create a wonder for the world. For future generations it will be the evidence of our existence, which will be written down in the pages of history.

It is therefore of the utmost importance to apply all currently available methods for ensuring the longevity of the construction:

  • The site will be insured against third party damage. Already now the international insurance company ERGO has expressed a willingness to provide the insurance coverage for the construction works. Upon the park’s completion a tender will be announced to select an insurer who would  cover risks associated with the park’s daily operation and maintenance, starting from day one of its unveiling.
  • The chosen building contractor will have to meet stringent quality requirements and provide guarantees.
  • For the park’s construction only high quality building materials will be used.
  • Income from the park’s operations and extra income from, for example, souvenirs sales will be allocated to the upkeep of the park as necessary, in the event that the insurance does not fully cover the costs caused by normal wear and tear.
  • All members’ details will be stored in an electronic data base, of which multiple copies will be made and safely stored away. Therefore it will always be possible to restore any damaged granite plates or individual parts of the wall, should it become necessary. The data will be sourced from the data base and the damaged parts restored.

The organisation’s aim is to ensure that the Wall of the World is passed on to future generations. With that in mind we will employ all available practical means and financial instruments.
